Internetology - Email Services FAQ
When you have your own domain name and have web space / email setup for it, you will be able to receive email as anyone@your-domain.com However, if you are using another ISP to collect your e-mail although you will "receive" mail as anyone@your-domain.com, you will still send it as, for example john.smith@mycompany.freeserve.co.uk The real benefit of having your own domain name is to be able to send AND receive mail as anyone@your-domain.com The ability to "send" email as you@your-domain.com is a feature
of your email program (e.g Outlook Express / Microsoft Exchange). This will work with the majority of email programs. Our dialups are fully POP3 / SMTP compliant (so can be used with virtually any standard Internet email package) and will support sending mail as you@your-domain.com |
